Little surprises

Well, I got online to tell you I've written my 1000 words for the day. But actually I'm much more interested in the fact that Clark from R. C. Willey posted a comment on my blog about sushi. So it just goes to show you never know who's reading.

Welcome, Clark! I hope you'll drop by again! And I promise the next time you give away sushi I'll be there!

Meanwhile, I did write that 1000 words. And THIS time I did super early in the morning. I got up at 5:15. Did my hour walk with Miss Kathy next door, then WROTE--the theory being that the closer I am to my dreaming self, the more easily I can tap into my wellsprings of creativity. Or whatever.

It kind of worked, too. I think it helped to practice what I've been preaching for years--DON'T EDIT YOURSELF WHEN YOU WRITE YOUR FIRST DRAFT. Just let it flow, baby.

We'll see if this works tomorrow.

I've thought about the early morning thing. Getting up before the distractions hit.

Having it close to your dream state is also a good point.

If you somehow turn me in to a morning person, you have earned your sainthood.

well, what I have to say about that.

Ooo, I like the idea of being closer to dream state.

P.S. That's funny about RC Willey!

Ummm...

Did you just say 5:15?

That's what I call sacrificing for your art.

Seriously, you better be careful what you say about celebs, before you know it, they're going to be commenting and calling your editor and stuff. Yikes.

I'm still trying to figure out what the "normal hot dog crowd" is from his comment.

My inlaws are the normal hotdog crowd. [hangs her head in shame.....]

Listen Ann, (can I call you Ann?) you should never be surprised by who's reading....you know because you're famous.

Also, what's the book about? Are people even allowed to ask that? Am I breaking all the rules by even talking about it? Either way, I'm sure it's amazing and I know it'll be worth being up at 5:30

1. Considering words left on WRITER'S CORNER" and kind comments left on blogs you visit, you write MORE than 1000 words a day. Oh, and then there's that column thing you do, too. Of course, I'm not sure you can weave all those words into your novel. You'd have some serious rewriting to do then, I suppose.

2. Sorry about my latest reply to a comment left on my seasons blog. I hope I didn't take advantage of a blogging sort of friendship.

3. Thank you for ALL the words you write! Your fans love every "if, and, or but."
