Here's what I want to say today

That I think you people who read this blog are fabulous.

Here's why. I've been visiting YOUR blogs and wow. I'm smitten. And humbled by how clever and funny and artful your writing is. It occurs to me that while it's true I have some talent and while it's also true that I work (kinda) hard at the whole writing thing, I've also been lucky. Really. There's no reason why YOU shouldn't be the ones doing the columns.

Some of you, I know, are working toward the goal of publication. And I applaud that. It's something I've worked for, too--something I still work for. Please know that I'm over here at my house pulling for you and cheering you on.

While eating, of course.

(Keep it up.)

It's always good to know that you've got people on your side as a writer.

Just so you know, I'm one of the many on your side, pulling for you and cheering you on. So glad that you take the time to blog--it's a high point of my day, every day.

Yes, that's me sending a big old smooch your way.

I'm with Lisa B.

I'd even dress up as your own personal cheerleader. But I'm not sure I could rock the short skirt anymore. Maybe Bob could.

And I'll join the chorus! Your blog, your column, your books are incredible. And your comments are always so encouraging.

And I'm going to take what you said here to heart, because I do have a goal of publication. When I'm flustered with my writing (as I usually am) I'm going to think of you, cheering me on from your house (while you're eating).

Well, I dunno if I have ever commented, but I've been reading your column forever and your blog for a while and I am enamored. Sometimes inspired. I would he honored if you were to drop by my blog, but don't feel obligated, that would be awkward.

I was so pleasantly surprised when you commented on my blog (although it made me pause to consider the inane things I write about). I turned to my husband and said in a shell-shocked voice, "ANN CANNON left a comment on MY blog!"

He simply smiled and said, "I always have liked her."

I'm still waiting for the Waffle Bowl book. Just so you know.

Love your blog, and LOVE your column. By the time this life is over, I will owe you a lot for the motivation you've given me as a writer, and for the way you turned my daughter into a reader. I will pay you in food, of course.

I've never commented either, but I love your blog, Ann. We definitely have eating in common. :) I especially enjoyed your play-by-play Oscar commentary. So much more entertaining than the actual show!

Who knew you were awesome and funny AND nice? :)

Ann, Thank you for dropping by blogs! And thanks even more for posting such a kind, encouraging message. I don't know where my blog fits in your blog travels, but I like to think your compliments applied to me, too.

Sometimes I think my best writing shows up in little comment boxes! It's like the blog I'm responding to inspires my writing. Thanks for being SO COOL!
