Please Take Note

That I am capitalizing again. Why? Because I can hit the "shift" key. Why? Because Surgeon Steve said NO MORE SPLINTS FOR YOU, YOUNG LADY! (Except that he should have said NO MORE SPLINTS FOR YOU, MIDDLE-AGED LADY!)

Anyway. I am free. Free at last! Free at last!

It's very true that my hand and wrist feel naked and limp. But the thumb works and the index finger points and all the tendons seem to be lining up like planets in 2012. Or whenever it is that the world is supposed to end. In which case it won't matter if my thumb works and my index finger points.

But whatever. I'm still happy. In fact I'm so happy I think I may eat a cupcake today.

Hooray for the loss of splints! Hooray for opposable thumbs and pointing fingers (I'm NOT talking about that tall one in the middle). Hooray for shift keys and the magic they create! Hooray for you!

An excellent turn of events. The digits are working and the thumb oppositional. As it should be. All is right in the world. Well, except for that health care thing and our crazy legislature.

If I was there, I would give your un-splinted hand a high five.

Celebrate Cupcake style, young lady.

p.s. I'm going to miss left-handedness.
