When carrying an umbrella will get you in trouble

When people think you're carrying an assault weapon instead . . .

Lockdown lifted. Police news conference underway. Gunman actually guilty of carrying an umbrella.

YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS STUFF UP.

(BTW it's good to see ECU has a good emergency response system in place. Props to ECU.)

We had a gunman on campus Wednesday night. Someone told me that the guy had been spotted an hour and a half before the text message emergency alert went out. That didn't seem timely to me. I'm glad I was safely at home, not living in the dorms.

ECU: befogged and bambozzled by a bumpershoot. (Lisa B already stole brolly.)

When I leave work to walk to the parking lot (one block down State Street, downtown SLC) and it's dark outside, I wield an umbrella like I could do you some serious damage with it. Didn't know it could get me arrested, though.

This is a good reason to buy a red umbrella.
